Qld:Brisbane airport quiet during Qantas strike

Some domestic flights out of Brisbane have been cancelled due to the 24-hour stoppageby Qantas workers.

But passengers say all counters appear to be staffed and queues are short.

Around 6,000 Qantas workers are on strike as part of a long-running dispute over wagesand conditions.

The Australian Services Union claims 169 domestic flights will be cancelled today, but Qantas says all regional and international flights are operating.

ASU Queensland branch secretary JULIE BIGNELL says many passengers changed their travelplans after being contacted by reservations staff over the weekend.

She says staff at the check-in counters are management personnel who've brought in for the day.
