TROY -- Julie McBride won the battle, but she lost the war.
McBride scored a school-record 46 points but it wasn't enough as her Catholic Central girls' basketball team dropped a tough 68-60 decision to Albany in a Big 10 game Thursday night.
The game was billed as a battle of 5-foot-4 senior McBride, headed for Syracuse University, and Albany's 6-foot-2 senior Carolyn Gottstein, who'll play at Boston College.
McBride had the best scoring game of her career. Gottstein finished with just 17 points -- well under her average. But teammates Maree Jones and Heather Benoit came up big to overcome McBride's …
